The Purple People Bridge turned 150 this year and to celebrate this historic milestone, the bridge is hosting a series of events throughout the summer. The final event of the series is the Back Roads Wine Festival coming up on Thursday, August 11 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

“We hope everyone will come down to enjoy the cool breeze on the bridge, celebrate our 150th, and enjoy live music, food trucks, craft vendors, and our region’s award-wining wineries!” said President of The Purple People Bridge Company, Will Weber.

The Back Roads Wine Festival is an event on the Purple People Bridge that will highlight wineries from both Kentucky and Ohio. Guests will have the opportunity to take in the beautiful views from the bridge while enjoying award-winning wines from local vineyards and wineries.

There is no ticket purchase necessary, attendance is free. The event will also feature craft vendors, food trucks, and live music by: The Northern Kentucky Derby

The Back Roads Wine Festival is sponsored by meetNKY: Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau, Cincy Region, Visit Cincy and B-105. All proceeds will go to preserving and maintaining the Purple People Bridge. As a private non-profit company, the Purple People Bridge Company, which owns and operates the bridge, is funded solely by event rentals or sign rentals on the bridge.

The Purple People Bridge’s next big event after the festival is Boom on the Bridge on Sunday, September 4. Boom on the Bridge is a unique opportunity to experience the Western & Southern/ WEBN Fireworks during Cincinnati’s Riverfest on Labor Day up close from the best view in town – on the Purple People Bridge.

The annual fundraiser is a complete experience with unobstructed views, live music, local food, drinks and parking included. All proceeds go to preserving, maintaining, and enhancing the iconic Purple People Bridge. You can purchase tickets and sponsorship information here.
