Kid-friendly New Year’s party, including fireworks planned for the Purple People Bridge on Dec. 30

In another first for the Purple People Bridge this year, the Purple People Bridge Company and ColdIron Enterprises Inc. will host a kid-friendly New Year’s Eve Eve party.

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30 — the day before New Year’s Eve — from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 per person (children 2 and under are free).

With admission, children will receive party favors and a ticket for a free hot chocolate. Other food and beverages will be available for purchase on the bridge. Kid-friendly activities and attractions, such as games, face painting, cookie decorating, a petting zoo, and more will be found on the bridge.

The New Year’s countdown will start shortly before 9 p.m., with a ten-minute fireworks display at the end of the countdown. The Purple People Bridge will have it’s purple-and-white Christmas lights turned on and music will be playing during the event.

“ColdIron Enterprises is excited to partner with the Purple People Bridge Company to bring this new and innovative holiday event to tri-state residents,” said Marc Wertheim, president and CEO of ColdIron Enterprises. “We believe that our region needed a fun, kid-focused event during the holidays, so we are launching a kids’ New Year’s Eve Eve event on the Purple People Bridge the day before the traditional New Year’s Eve.”
